Megan McCann
Operations manager

Megan is the person most customers speak to first. She takes the inquiries, works the schedule around tides and weather, and is the one who lets you know when the crew are coming.
About Sea Strong Marine
A small crew working out of Norfolk, diving, detailing and painting boats across Hampton Roads.

How it started
Sea Strong Marine was founded by a former U.S. Navy SEAL and qualified dive supervisor, with a background in maritime operations and emergency medical response and more than a decade spent on, under and around this water.
We’re boat owners ourselves, and that’s the part that shaped the company. We’d been through the same thing most owners here have: divers who came once and then stopped answering, work we couldn’t check, invoices that didn’t match what we suspected had happened.
So we built the service we’d been looking for and couldn’t find.

Lead diver

Yes, that’s his real name, and he gets asked every time. Rage grew up on a working cattle ranch, which is where the early starts came from, and found the ocean a good deal later. He’s an Advanced Open Water diver working toward his Divemaster, he leads most days in the field, and he’s usually the one in the water on your boat.
Commercial diver

Certified commercial diver and underwater welder. Hull inspections, running gear, anode replacement, line removal and welding below the waterline, with training in rigging, NDT inspection and marine emergency response. When a job turns out to need more than a scrub, Ethen is the reason we don’t have to call somebody else in.

The crew, before they were the crew
We’re honored to have over half our crew come from being a client first. It says a lot when people see the vision you’re building and want to come onboard to be a part of it. Who knows, you could be next!

Protect what the boat is worth
Do the work properly and show you that we did
The most common complaint about this trade has nothing to do with the quality of the work. It’s that people don’t turn up.
So the calendar is a job in itself. Inquiries answered the same day, quotes that go out with a service window attached, and if weather or tide moves something you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.
Where we work
Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Chesapeake, Cape Charles and Deltaville, and we dive at 14 marinas and yacht clubs across the region.
[The owner] is excellent. He really goes the extra mile on my boat.

No obligation, no pressure
If you’re still weighing us up, that’s completely normal and you’re welcome to just ask a question. Somebody will come back to you the same day.
Or just call us
(757) 453-4159Tell us about her length, where she sits and what you’re after. Two minutes on a form, or over text if that works better for you.
We price by the foot, so there’s no surprise at the end.
The calendar is run by Megan, who manages our operations. That’s the reason the window means something.
After the visit, with the invoice. You see the hull before and after without having to ask.
